About

Shuva Rahim first learned about yoga in 2004 from her roommate during her Peace Corps service in Suriname, South America. Shortly thereafter she found a book about yoga, which she used to teach villagers in the jungle. In the years since, her yoga practice slowly, but gradually evolved – eventually sparking an interest as a teacher to help people who are (re)starting yoga. Her goal is to empower people of all shapes to incorporate yoga in their lives, and use their practice as a way to stay grounded while tackling challenges off the mat.

This site is an extension of Shuva’s yoga experience – which includes completing her teacher training in 2022 – and ongoing growth as a student, observer, and participant of yoga culture.

Off the mat Shuva works in the software industry and is usually training for a long-distance race. She and her husband have two cats, and live in eastern Iowa.
